Harmut Fischer, PhD, is a Professor at the University of San Francisco. Dr. Fischer has served as a consultant to the World Bank and the European Union and his research interests include economic problems faced by countries in transition from socialist market economies, country risk analysis, issues of governance, the process of convergence vs. divergence between poor and rich countries, international trade, migration, and capital flows. His current area of special interest is on the economics of environmental problems in the globalization process.

Cedric Dupont, PhD, is a Professor at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, Geneva, Switzerland. His research focuses on international political economic issues, both at the global and regional levels, on the problem of international cooperation, and international negotiation processes.  His current work concentrates on regionalism in Asia, national responses to international economic crises, the management of jurisdictional boundaries between international organizations as well as the factors which influence trade negotiations in the European Union.
